What would you do with $2000 to spend on Video Equipment for Media Tech 1?Introduction: We have $2000 to spend on new equipment for Media Tech. But with all the different equipment available, what should we buy? It is up to you and your partners to determine how this money should be spent. Task: You and two partners are going to research one of the following topics to determine which is the best product for us to buy for the Media Tech class. You have $2000 to spend. If possible, you need to buy 4 sets of one piece of equipment. You will be making this recommendation on how to spend the money to the class in a PowerPoint Presentation. You and your group must choose one of the following pieces of equipment and research three types of that piece of equipment. You will then determine which product to buy for Media Tech with the $2000.
Process: First you must determine which item we should buy. Hence, you must look at the various types of products available on the market. For example, is a boom mic better than a hand-held mic? Do they both have advantages and disadvantages? Which is better for class? You may even have to go to a local store to try out the equipment. Note: I would suggest that you divide the work up and have each member research one product. Then your group can put the project together using each person's work. Also, you should use internet search engines (google, yahoo, etc.) Make sure you keep track of where your information comes from for your works cited page. Evaluation: You will be evaluating your group members for their effort and work standards using a group evaluation rubric. Your PowerPoint and presentation will be evaluated by the instructor according to a PowerPoint Presentation rubric. Make sure you check out the rubrics to know what will be expected of you. Total Points: 140 (100 for PowerPoint and presentation, 40 for group work). Due Date: The PowerPoint presentation will be presented to the class on Sept. 14. |
